Non-friable asbestos

Non-friable, or loose, asbestos incorporated into materials such as asbestos-containing floor tiles and siding, is NOT accepted as part of your regular household trash or at the Montgomery County Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station.

Friable asbestos

Friable, or loose, asbestos should only be removed and disposed of by a trained contractor. An example is asbestos insulation.
