Montgomery County will host the second of its two joint town-hall meetings to encourage further dialogue about gun violence and work toward the goal of a Montgomery County free of hostility, with enhanced safety for everyone in our community. This initiative is in response to recent events in St. Anthony, Minn. and Baton Rouge, La. and Dallas, Texas.
Tonight’s meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the BlackRock Center for the Arts. Participating in the discussion will be the Montgomery County branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Office of Human Rights, the Faith Community Working Group, and the Police Department.
These meetings have the full support of the Montgomery County Human Rights Commission, the Committee on Hate Violence and the Black Minister’s Conference. All are invited to join the important dialogue.
