Leggett to Attend Beautification and Photography Awards Ceremony Honoring 85 Individuals, Groups and Businesses

Wednesday, October 26, 2016; 7 to 8 p.m.

Executive Office Building Cafeteria, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville

Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will join Montgomery County Department of Transportation Director Al Roshdieh, Department of Environmental Protection Director Lisa Feldt and volunteers from Keep Montgomery County Clean and Green (KMCCG) at the 30th Annual Beautification Awards Ceremony. KMCCG (formerly Keep Montgomery County Beautiful) was created in 1983 to work with the County in developing beautification projects and anti-litter and recycling programs. The group also conducts public education to change resident attitudes about littering and graffiti.

Beautification awards are presented to community groups, businesses, public institutions and other organizations that undertake landscaping projects to enhance the appearance of commonly owned commercial or residential properties or County roadsides, medians or other public locations. This year’s awards focus on environmentally sensitive landscapes.

In addition, awards will be presented for the 25th Annual Photography Competition honoring amateur photos of Montgomery County scenes and its people. And, the Clean Sweeps Awards will be presented to the Adopt a Road volunteers who have done the most over the last year.

Light refreshments will be served.
