Leggett and Public Safety Chiefs Urge Public to Stay Safe This Holiday Season

Provide Critical Holiday Pedestrian and Driver Safety Information; Support Respecting Designated Disability Parking Spaces; and

Kick-off “Shop with a Cop or Firefighter Initiative”

 

Particularly during the busy holiday season, the public is encouraged to “Be Seen, Be Alert, and Be Responsible.”

At the East Promenade end of stores near the Old Navy store and Parking Lot E-33

 

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett and public safety officials will provide critical holiday pedestrian and driver safety tips including parking lot safety and impaired driving prevention, a reminder to Respect the Space (designated disability parking spaces), kick off the 2016 “Shop with a Cop or Firefighter” campaign and the importance of using environmentally-friendly reusable shopping bags.

 

Joining Leggett will be Police Chief Tom Manger, Fire Chief Scott Goldstein, Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Director Lisa Feldt and Commissioner with the County’s Commission on People with Disabilities Patricia Gallalee.

 

Note to Editors: Immediately following the press event, police officers and firefighters will kick off the holiday season “Shop with a Cop or Firefighter” campaign. They will be joined by DEP employees in distributing reusable shopping bags to shoppers.
