County Joins National Association of Counties (NACo) Live Healthy Program To Provide Residents with Low Cost Dental Discounts and Additional Health Benefits

County Executive Isiah Leggett will be joined by Councilmember George Leventhal, chair of the Health and Human Services Committee; Uma Ahluwalia, director of the County’s Department of Health and Human Services; Brian Namey, National Association of Counties (NACo) and Dr. Alan Kaplan, member of the Commission on Aging and the Commission on Health to announce a partnership that will provide low-cost dental services and health services such as vision procedures, hearing aids and screenings, as well as diabetes supplies and more.

NACo’s Live Healthy Program incorporates the free prescription discount program, Montgomery RX, with additional options for low-cost dental and health service coverage. Since late 2004 when the County launched the prescription discount program, residents have saved more than $32 million on the cost of prescription drugs.
