Montgomery County Celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day with Day of Service Activities

The Montgomery County Volunteer Center and its partner agencies will host several service project activities January 15, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Thousands of volunteers are expected to participate in the Day of Service activities.

 

MAIN EVENT: Monday, January 15, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, 5701 Marinelli Road, North Bethesda 

• Service Projects: There will be more than 45 projects benefiting organizations that serve a variety of community needs, from hunger to animal adoption.

• Volunteer Fair: More than 30 nonprofits and government agencies will have representatives on hand to discuss their organizations’ missions and year-round volunteer opportunities.

• Proclamations: County Executive Ike Leggett, County Council President Hans Riemer, County Councilmember Sidney Katz, and Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh will present joint proclamations in honor of the Montgomery County MLK Day of Service at 2 p.m.
