The Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center’s new space is conveniently located in the Westfield South Building at the Westfield Wheaton Shopping Center, a short walk from the Wheaton Metro Station. The space includes three classrooms, a meeting room, and office space for staff. The ceremony will celebrate the Gilchrist Center’s volunteers and their contributions to the Center’s work.

The Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center is Montgomery County’s welcome center for immigrants.  New residents can connect at the Center for educational, economical and civic resources.  The Center has three other locations in Gaithersburg, Germantown and in the East County.  The centers provide culturally-competent information and referral services, classes, programs, and volunteers to benefit diverse residents through supportive partnerships. The work of the Gilchrist Center has been at the forefront of Montgomery County’s efforts to be among the most welcoming communities in the United States.
