Montgomery County Department of Recreation to Host Youth Summit

Montgomery County Recreation is hosting a Youth Summit for middle and high school students to share their experiences, insights and solutions with County Executive Ike Leggett, County Councilmembers and other local officials.

The town hall-style meeting is designed to challenge students to identify and discuss the increasing number of hurdles young people face that may later cause disengagement, apathy and socially destructive behavior.

The Youth Summit will begin with welcoming remarks by county officials and it will be moderated by radio host Joe Clair of WPGC-FM.  The event is sponsored by members of the Youth Advisory Committee and will be followed by a resource fair where students can learn more about getting involved with elected leaders, county agencies and nonprofit organizations.
