The Montgomery County Community Action Agency, in collaboration with the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) and the County’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Partnership, has rescheduled the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Awareness Day and VITA Kick-Off event to Friday, Feb. 6, in Rockville. The event was previously postponed due to inclement weather.
The event will highlight free tax preparation services available to Montgomery County residents and the significant impact of tax credits, including the EITC, for households with modest incomes.
The event celebrates the EITC, widely recognized as one of the most effective anti-poverty tools, and will spotlight free tax-filing programs that connect eligible residents to valuable tax credits, thereby helping many in our community move toward the Self-Sufficiency Standard.
