Red Line Surge

Montgomery County Council Vice President Roger Berliner, who chairs the Council’s Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy and Environment Committee, talked about the patience Montgomery County Red Line users must have over the next few weeks after the Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation (Metro) begins it “surge” of safety repairs on the Red Line. At an informational event at the Silver Spring Transit Center, Metro General Manager Paul Wiedefeld (far left corner) said that extensive track work will begin on the Red Line in Montgomery County starting Monday, Aug. 1, and run for at least one week. He said riders could expect delays of up to an hour. See the County’s release for more info on the surge. (Montgomery Community Media photo)
