Fifth-Grade Students Learn about Fair Housing

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett presented a $250 prize to the Fair Housing Poster Contest winner, a 5th grader at Matsunaga Elementary School in Germantown. The school's entire 5th grade attended the ceremony. Students were asked to illustrate their understanding of the importance and impact of the fair housing law in Montgomery County by creating a poster. This activity was part of a Youth Diversity Camp for 5th graders, sponsored annually by the County's Office of Human Rights. The winning poster will be featured on 79 Ride On buses this spring. The contest winner and two classmates who participated in the camp are pictured with the County Executive.
