A COACHING LEGEND RETIRES

Bob Milloy, who recently announced he would be retiring after 47 years of coaching football at four Montgomery County schools, talks about the needed elements to build successful programs as he was honored by the Montgomery County Council on May 16. As coach at Whitman High School in Bethesda, Springbrook in White Oak, Sherwood in Sandy Spring and Good Counsel in Olney, he won more games (405 victories, 124 losses and 1 tie) than any other coach in Maryland history and is tied with the most state public school championships by a coach (eight). Among those at the ceremonies in Rockville were, from left to right: Councilmember Nancy Navarro; Bob’s wife, Susan; Councilmember Sidney Katz; and Bob and Susan’s daughter, Kelley.
