African Heritage Month

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett participated in the 2017 African Diaspora Entrepreneurship Summit. Montgomery County is the first in the nation to proclaim September as African Heritage Month; and each year a summit is held in its honor. The African Diaspora Entrepreneurship Summit highlighted some of the successes and challenges minority and women entrepreneurs face in Montgomery County. The County’s Office of Procurement Director Cherri Branson served as the summit’s keynote speaker. The Summit is organized each year by the County Executive's African Affairs Advisory Group.
