National Siemens Competition Grand Prize Winner

Andrew Komo, a student at Montgomery Blair High School, joined the Council to receive a proclamation from Councilmembers Nancy Floreen, Tom Hucker, and Craig Rice, recognizing his extraordinary achievement as a grand prize recipient in the National Siemens Competition in Science, Math, and Technology. Andrew won a $100,000 scholarship for his project entitled "Cryptographically Secure Proxy Bidding in Ascending Clock Auctions" for developing a coded system that can be used to protect large scale online auctions from serious threats.
