Rev. Dr. Ruby Reese Moone

Councilmember Tom Hucker presented a proclamation on behalf of the Council recognizing the legacy and leadership of Rev. Dr. Ruby Reese Moone, who is retiring from her position as Chaplain for the Black Ministries at the University of Maryland. Rev. Dr. Moone experienced firsthand the indignities of segregation in the Deep South as a child in Georgia, and has dedicated her life to civil rights activism, working with such organizations as the NAACP and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Rev. Dr. Reese Moone and Dr. Haywood A. Robinson III gave remarks during the presentation. Watch the proclamation
