Wheaton High School College Ready/STEM Career Readiness

Council Vice President Nancy Navarro presented a proclamation on behalf of the Council recognizing Wheaton High School for its national leadership in encouraging students to enroll in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) courses and gain the Advanced Placement and Project Lead The Way (PLTW) distinction. Wheaton High School had the highest number of students in MCPS to earn AP + PLTW student achievements for the 2016-2017 school year, and the second largest such group of students in the entire United States. Dr. Deborah Mugge, principal of Wheaton High School, and Ms. Heather Carias, assistant principal, spoke during the presentation. #STEM
