On May 4, engineers from MCDOT’s Division of Transportation Engineering participated in an all-day event at Northwood High School to promote careers in technology and engineering. The four staff including three women, all work on the planning, design and construction of a wide range of County transportation projects, including Bus Rapid Transit, roads, bridges, bikeways, transit centers and sidewalks. Staff presented students with real world problem-solving opportunities to give them a better idea of what engineers do on a day-to-day basis.
“As public servants, I see MCDOT’s goal as assisting the community in myriad ways, including helping to interest young people in STEM and promoting the varied career opportunities available in the County,” said MCDOT Director Al Roshdieh. “MCDOT’s diverse engineering staff are excellent role models and I am very proud of their dedication, commitment and talent.”
