Montgomery County Councilmember George Leventhal, who chairs the Council’s Health and Human Resources Committee, tonight at 7 p.m. in Rockville will be part of a panel that addresses health care opportunities and barriers for African American residents of the County.
The “March to Health” forum is sponsored by the African-American Democratic Club on Montgomery County. The forum will be held in the Seventh Floor Hearing Room of the County Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville. The meeting is open to the public.
In addition to Councilmember Leventhal, the panel discussion will include George Benjamin, executive director of the American Public Health Association; Arlee Wallace of the Maryland Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities; and Triesta Fowler Lee of the Institute of Child Health and Human Development.
Laurie‐Anne Sayles, president of the club, will moderate the forum.
Among the topics the panel members will discuss is what proactive measures residents must take to meet their healthcare needs. The panel also will touch upon current health issues impacting African-American youth.
