Update for Emergency Calls After 7 p.m. Tonight

For Immediate Release: Monday, July 11, 2016

Investigatory and restorative actions have been taken throughout the day today to ensure the proper operation of the County’s 9-1-1 emergency call center.

It is expected that there should be no further interruption of service tonight. Therefore, the MC311 call center, which opened early this morning to help take emergency calls, will close at its regular time of 7 p.m.

However, if anyone experiences an emergency after 7 p.m. tonight, calls 9-1-1 and receives a busy signal, do not hesitate to call your local police district station. Do not attempt to call 3-1-1 or 240-777-0311 tonight. MC311 will resume its standard informational call service at 7 a.m. tomorrow.

Public Safety officials urge all residents and business owners to determine which Police District stations are closest to them in the event of an emergency.

Police Stations:

1st District Rockville Station    240-773-6070

2nd District Bethesda Station    240-773-6700
3rd District Silver Spring

4th District Wheaton                 240-773-5500
