Montgomery County Public Libraries’ Germantown Branch Presents “Show and Share Your Memories” Program

For Immediate Release: Monday, September 12, 2016

Community members are invited to bring their treasured items to the Germantown branch of Montgomery County Public Libraries and tell the stories behind them on Saturday, September 24, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. as part of a free “Show and Tell” program.

Storytellers will have up to 10 minutes to show and talk about their old letters, musical instruments passed through generations, unique books, or share anything that is special and has a good story.

Christina Lyons, a local personal historian, will be facilitating the event, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Library, Germantown chapter, Montgomery County Public Libraries and the Association of Personal Historians.

Those who want to share stories about their treasures and memories should email Christina Lyons at christina@bylyons.com to secure a spot in the event or register online via MCPL’s website at Show and Tell Event.

To request a sign language interpreter or other deaf/hard of hearing services for library-sponsored programs, email MCPL.DeafAccess@montgomerycountymd.gov, preferably with three business days’ notice. To request other accommodations, contact Germantown Library at 240-777-0110.
