MCDOT Director Al Roshdieh announced that Daniel Hibbert has been selected to be the new Division Chief for Transit Services beginning September 18. Transit Services operates the County’s Ride On bus system, the second largest in the Washington metropolitan area.
Hibbert has 32 years of experience in the public transportation and transit field, working for state, city and county governments as well as in the private transit industry. He joined the Division in 2003, progressively increasing his responsibilities and, for the last three years, served as the Division’s Chief of Operations. During that time, Hibbert has proven his leadership overseeing nearly 375 buses operating from three depots that carry about 27 million passengers each year. He has also worked to foster a positive relationship with the one of the County’s largest bargaining workforce units.
Hibbert holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University, and a Master of Science degree in Urban Planning and Policy Design from Johns Hopkins University.
