A public meeting is planned for Wednesday, September 28 to provide information and gather public comment on the evaluation of alternatives for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service between Wheaton and Rockville. The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), in partnership with the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT), completed a corridor study to evaluate alternatives for BRT along MD 586 (Veirs Mill Road). The study report is available for public review and comment online.
At the public meeting, representatives from MDOT and MCDOT will be available to answer questions. Attendees will be able to review a comparison of alternatives, including detailed plans, transit and traffic operations, environmental impacts and cost estimates.
The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Montgomery County Executive Office Building Cafeteria, T (Terrace) Level, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850.
The building is a short walk from the Rockville Metrorail Station and served by Metrobus routes Q1, Q2, Q4, Q5 and Q6 and Ride On routes 44, 46, 47, 54, 56 and 63. Parking will be available in the parking garage below the office building. Enter from Monroe Street and park on the lowest level (G-2).
