County Executive to Host Annual Diwali Celebration
to Honor Indian Cultural Heritage 

Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett and the County’s Office of Community Partnerships will host the County’s Diwali celebration Wednesday, November 2, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Executive Office Building, Terrace Level Cafeteria, 101 Monroe St., Rockville.

Known as the Festival of Lights, Diwali is a holiday observed worldwide between mid-October and mid-November by people of Indian and South Asian heritage. The observance marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year and celebrates the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. The free community program will feature remarks, a lamp lighting ceremony, Indian dances and a reception with light refreshments.
