 On Wednesday, November 9, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will begin construction of a project to improve safety and traffic flow at the intersection of MD 28 (Darnestown Road) and Riffle Ford Road. The project will widen the roadway along westbound MD 28 to provide exclusive right and left turn lanes and two through lanes; widen the roadway along southbound Riffle Ford Road to provide an exclusive left lane and a left through right lane; and complete ADA upgrades including sidewalk, detectable warning surfaces and sidewalk ramp upgrades.


Travelers are advised to expect lane closures during construction. The project is expected to be completed by the third week of December.
