Montgomery County Public Libraries to Present Workshops on Applying for Jobs with Montgomery County Government

For Immediate Release: Thursday, November 17, 2016

One of Montgomery County Public Libraries’ (MCPL) Fiscal Years 2017-2020 Strategic Plan goals is to bolster MCPL’s current workforce and career-focused program offerings.  Under its workforce and business development umbrella, MCPL will present two workshops on How to Apply for Jobs with Montgomery County Government on Nov. 18 and Dec. 6.

The workshops are presented as a collaboration between MCPL and the County’s Office of Human Resources (OHR).

“Our strategic direction over the course of the next four years calls for increased workforce-focused programming to support the job seekers who turn to MCPL for assistance,” said MCPL Director Parker Hamilton.  “We’re delighted to partner with OHR to offer these valuable, practical workshops for the first time ever.”

The two hour sessions, led by OHR recruiters will include an overview of Montgomery County’s job application process, the online application system, and detailed instruction on registering and searching for job opportunities with Montgomery County Government.

“This is a great opportunity for OHR and MCPL to collaborate,” stated OHR Director Shawn Stokes.  “Our goal is to help residents understand Montgomery County’s job application process and successfully navigate the online application system.”
