For Immediate Release: Thursday, November 17, 2016

Starting on Monday, November 21, Ride On’s Route 301 bus service will begin charging regular fares and riders will have to pay or show proper ID for each trip. Introductory free rides will end on Sunday, November 20, 2016. Information about Ride On’s discount programs and regular fares is below.

 

Discount Programs

Riders who are 65 and older and persons with disabilities with ID’s can ride free between 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM Monday through Saturday.

Students in grades K-12 can ride free from 2:00 – 8:00 PM weekdays with a Youth Cruiser SmarTrip card or a valid school ID.

 

Other Ride On fares are shown below:

Regular Fare, Token, or SmarTrip____________________________________ $1.75 

Metrorail-to-Ride On Bus Transfer____________________________________ $1.25

Seniors and persons with disability with valid ID except during free periods:

          Senior/Disabled SmartTrip or Cash______________________________ $ .85

          Senior/Disabled SmartTrip Transfer from Metrorail__________________ $ .35

MetroAccess Customer with ID, Companion______________________________ FREE

Person with disability with Metro Attendant Eligible Disability ID Card - Attendant rides half fare or free depending on time

Children under age 5 (Limit 2 children per paying passenger)________________ FREE

Local Bus Transfer with SmarTrip ((valid for two hours from first boarding)_____ FREE
