Montgomery County Public Libraries Presents Loudoun Youth Guitars

For Immediate Release: Monday, February 6, 2017

Montgomery County Public Libraries will host two free concerts by the Loudoun Youth Guitars. The talented ensemble of middle and high school students is made up of accomplished guitarists from Loudoun County, Virginia.

 

Conducted by Dr. Miroslav Lončar, the performance will include classical and contemporary pieces from composers including Handel, Vivaldi, Bizet and Chick Corea. The group has performed at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, the National Institutes of Health, the Composer Society of Montgomery College and many other venues.

 

The free concerts, suitable for all ages, are scheduled for:

  • February 18 at 3 p.m.

  • February 25 at 4 p.m.

Twinbrook, 202 Meadow Hall Drive, Rockville

 

“We are very pleased to host these concerts,” said MPCL Director Parker Hamilton. “Music brings people together, and when it is performed by talented, young students, it is especially inspiring and delightful.”

 

Loudoun Youth Guitars are brought to MCPL by the International Conservatory of Music, a non-profit public charity whose mission is to bring people together to experience classical guitar music from around the world through performances, classes, scholarship competitions and national tours.
