On February 28, Pat Shepherd, MCDOT’s Capital Projects Manager/Bikeways Coordinator was honored by the Washington Area Bicyclists Association (WABA) at their Bicyclists' Choice Awards with WABA's Protecting Bike Lanes Award.
Shepherd was recognized for her dedication to making bicycling better in the region and for leading MCDOT’s efforts on installing protected bike lanes in the County, beginning with those on Woodglen Drive and Nebel Street.
WABA sponsors the annual awards to thank and publicly recognize the people and places that make the Washington region a great place for bicycling.
