Call for Exhibitors for Montgomery County’s Department of Permitting Services (DPS) Design for Life Showcase

For Immediate Release: Thursday, March 23, 2017

Exhibitor registration is open for Montgomery County’s Department of Permitting Services (DPS) Design for Life Showcase.  There is no fee for exhibitors. The Design for Life Showcase is a free event, open to the public to view accessible design features and homes.

The expo is Saturday, May 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Building located at 1 Veteran Place.

The County wants to showcase a variety of builders and renovators who have expertise in the universal design or accessible design.  Whether a resident is maneuvering a stroller, on crutches or in a wheelchair with temporary or permanent mobility issue – Design for Life homes are built for all ages and stages of life. The exhibition aims to increase awareness about the design elements for building or renovating accessible homes and the benefits of the property tax credit provided by the “Design for Life Montgomery” legislation, which went into effect on July 1, 2014.

There are no fees for exhibitors, however displays must feature the accessibility of the home or product.  If there is any question about the eligibility of the design, please contact DPS at 240-777-6272 to review your submission.  The deadline for exhibitor registration is April 3.

Exhibitors interested in registering for the event or for more information please fill out the registration form and return to Crystal Roberts – crystal.roberts@montgomerycountymd.gov or contact Jessica Fusillo – jessica.fusillo@montgomerycountymd.gov.
