The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) Board has approved the following service and fare changes that will affect transit riders in Montgomery County:
Elimination of J5 bus service between Twinbrook and Silver Spring
Elimination of I-270 Express J7 and J9 service beginning October 2017
Reduced frequency of T2 service on River Road
Elimination of weekend B30 service between Greenbelt and BWI Airport and reduction of frequency to once an hour during weekdays
Reduced frequency for the Z7 Laurel to Burtonsville Express
Increase of Metrorail peak hour fares by 10 cents
Increase of Metrorail off-peak hour fares by 25 cents
Increase of local bus fares by 25 cents
Increase of express bus fares by 25 cents
