For Immediate Release: Thursday, April 27, 2017

Did you know that MCDOT Commuter Services staff is available to visit worksites to help employees learn about their commuting alternatives?

Knowledgeable staff can hold a "Commuter Information Day" to answer employee's questions about their specific commute-to-work needs. Staff provide a host of information about Metro and Ride On, MARC, VRE, commuter buses, shuttles, carpooling, vanpooling, biking or walking to work, the Guaranteed Ride Home program, parking management, car sharing, Bikeshare and other available commuting options.

Companies and agencies that recently held a “Commuter Information Day” include Boston Properties, MedImmune,  MATAN and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Employers can email Commuter Services to find out how to arrange a fair at their location.

Another Commuter Services benefit to employers located within Transportation Management Districts (TMDs) is the County’s FareShare matching subsidy program. A short-term County subsidy is available to match the employer's transit benefits and help them offset their commute benefit program start-up costs.  Learn more about FareShare.
