Press Releases - Department of Transportation

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, May 16, 2017

This spring, Ride On is testing free wireless Internet aboard four buses to keep riders “connected” during their commute. The project is part of Smart Transit Spotlight, a partnership with AT&T, to test WiFi and USB charging ports on buses and at bus stops as a way to enhance the customer experience.

Passengers on the test buses can connect to the domain “Get On the Bus” and try the service. Customers who would like to submit feedback about the WiFi service are encouraged to do so by messaging Ride On through Twitter or Facebook, or by emailing [email protected].

Eight more Ride On buses will be equipped with WiFi this summer.

In October, Ride On will be launching its new, Route 355 Ride On extRa service that will offer WiFi and USB charging ports on the specially branded buses.
