Montgomery County Council to hold public hearing on Tuesday, June 13, regarding advocacy services for tenants

PUBLIC HEARING

The Montgomery County Council will hold a public hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, on Expedited Bill 17-17 that would require the director of the Department of Housing and Community Affairs to provide certain advocacy services and assistance to tenants. The bill also would set the amount of the annual license fee per dwelling unit for each class of rental housing and generally amend the law related to landlord-tenant relations.

The public hearing will be held in the Third Floor Hearing Room of the Council Office Building, which is located at 100 Maryland Avenue in Rockville. It will be televised live by County Cable Montgomery (CCM) on Cable Channels 996 (high definition) and 6 (standard definition) on Comcast; Channels 1056 (HD) and 6 (SD) on RCN; and Channel 30 on Verizon. The hearing also will be available live via streaming through the Council web site at http://tinyurl.com/z9982v8 .
