First Ride On extRa Bus Arrives

In October, Ride On will begin a limited stop, faster service on Maryland 355 between the Lakeforest Transit Center and the Medical Center Metro Station. Preview the specially branded buses at events this summer and fall, including the County Fair. Learn more about Ride On extRa.

Lane Closures Planned for Next Four Weekends on Rockville Pike in Bethesda at NIH/Walter Reed

Over the next four weekends, MCDOT will close lanes on Rockville Pike (MD 355) between Woodmont Avenue and Wilson Drive, near the Medical Center Metro Station, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) at Naval Support Activity Bethesda. “Ride On Rocks” According to One Happy Passenger

It’s always great to hear from a satisfied customer. Ride On recently received this email:
“This evening I was riding on the 5 bus to Twinbrook and there was an incident I would like to report. The driver, who told me her name was Margaret, greeted me with a huge smile and a welcoming 'good evening sir.' I watched as she greeted each passenger with the same infectious joy. Then, an older woman got on the bus. The driver, Margaret, carefully asked the woman where she was getting off. She then stopped there, even though the elderly woman had neglected to ring for the stop. There's a lot of reasons that Ride On rocks, and one is drivers like Margaret.”
