Public Invited to Attend Pedestrian Bicycle and Traffic Safety Advisory Committee Meeting Regarding Vision Zero on Thursday, September 28 at 7 p.m.

The Pedestrian Bicycle and Traffic Safety Advisory Committee (PBTSAC) will discuss the draft of a Two-Year Vision Zero Action Plan for Montgomery County. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 28 from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Ellsworth Room of the Silver Spring Civic Building at One Veterans Place (corner of Ellsworth Dr. and Fenton St.) in Silver Spring.

 

Vision Zero is an initiative being adopted in many U.S. communities and abroad to devise and implement a plan to prevent traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries among vehicle occupants, bicyclists and pedestrians. The ultimate goal is to reduce traffic-related deaths and serious injuries to zero.

 

The office of Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett is preparing the Vision Zero Action Plan. At the September 28 meeting, the PBTSAC will review and discuss the draft plan.

 

Members of the public and community organizations are invited to participate at the September 28 special PBTSAC meeting. Everyone is invited to provide comments to the report online; comments must be received by Monday, October 5. After final revisions, the Two-Year Vision Zero Action Plan will be submitted to the Montgomery County Council.
