For Immediate Release: Tuesday, September 19, 2017
The second annual Montgomery County Procurement Forum takes place on Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Building at 1 Veterans Place in downtown Silver Spring. The event – the largest hosted by the Office of Procurement – has more than 400 registrants and will feature more than 30 panelists and speakers, along with 20 exhibitors.
“As County Executive, I continue to champion opportunities that support our diverse businesses and enrich the lives of all Montgomery County residents,” said Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett. “As the County’s economy grows, I applaud the Office of Procurement for providing local, small and minority-owned businesses with information, assistance and information.”
Cherri Branson, director of the Office of Procurement, said the forum’s importance extends far beyond a one-day event.
“The Montgomery County Procurement Forum is our premier event for businesses to connect, network and grow - locally and throughout the State of Maryland,” Branson said.
Local and regional government officials along with business leaders will provide remarks at the forum. In addition, the forum will feature an exhibitor’s showcase, breakout sessions, and business development activities designed to guide participants through every aspect of the Montgomery County procurement process. One of last year’s popular sessions about opportunities provided by public/private partnerships in the region will return. New sessions have been added on “green” sustainability, and the nonprofit sector.
