Basic Information About the Closures
No Red Line trains will operate between Silver Spring and Fort Totten November 25 - December 10. Limited free shuttle buses will be available between stations during normal Metrorail operating hours.
The Takoma Station will be closed. No parking will be available – the Park & Ride Lot, Kiss & Ride and all metered parking spaces will be closed to the public.
Customers should allow extra travel time and expect some crowding as trains will arrive less frequently than normal.
In addition, on the weekend of December 2-3, the Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton and Glenmont stations will be closed. Limited free shuttles will be available between stations.
Full details are available from WMATA.
