MCDOT will hold three public hearings on January 23 in the Executive Office Building (101 Monroe Street, Rockville) Lobby Auditorium to consider requests for public right-of-way abandonments:


Abandonment of 30-Foot Storm Drain in the Cedar Ridge Subdivision, Laytonsvlle

This abandonment case was requested by Redlef Group Architects, LLC on behalf of its client, Diane Henderson, the Applicant, who owns property containing the right-of-way at 9413 Poplar Creek Court in Laytonsville. The requestor is asking for the abandonment of a portion of the right-of-way to enable the construction of an addition to the Applicant’s house.  The public hearing will be held at 7 p.m.


Abandonment of a Storm Drain Right-of-Way along Harness Point Way, Clarksburg Town Center Subdivision

Requested by Elm Street Development in compliance with an amended site plan approved by the Montgomery County Planning Board, the storm drain right-of-way was replaced and is no longer needed.  The public hearing will be held at 7:15 p.m.


Abandonment of a Portion of Planning Place Adjoining 8787 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring

Requested by Lerch Early & Brewer on behalf of its client, SC/BA Silver Spring Apartments, LLC, the Applicant is seeking the abandonment of a portion of Planning Place to redevelop what will be the former headquarters of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC). M-NCPPC staff recommended this partial abandonment to improve vehicular circulation and pedestrian safety. The public hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m.
