Montgomery County Government Opens at Normal Time, Except Senior Centers Closed; Liberal Leave in Effect, Essential Personnel Report

Montgomery County Government offices and departments are OPEN according to their normal operating schedules with optional LIBERAL LEAVE for non-essential employees. Essential employees must report as scheduled.

UPDATE: As of 10 a.m., Maryland State Police lifted the Snow Emergency Plan for Montgomery County that had gone into effect at 5 a.m.  

County Senior Centers are closed. All scheduled programs and activities in County recreation facilities are cancelled. Recreation facilities will be open for drop in use only. 

Non-essential employees must notify their supervisors of their intent to use appropriate leave (see MCtime Resources – Liberal Leave Guidance) without prior supervisory approval.  Telework-approved employees who are regularly scheduled to perform telework must be prepared to work, take leave, or a combination of both. Telework-approved employees not scheduled to telework may request unscheduled telework from their supervisor for all or, in combination with leave, part of the work day.
