Montgomery County Public Libraries to Host its Second Comic Convention

Montgomery County Public Libraries will host its second comic convention, MoComCon, January 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Silver Spring branch located at 900 Wayne Avenue.

 

This event is open and accessible to all, including seasoned comic conventioneers, novices and the curious of all ages. The comic convention will include a variety of presenters, workshops, programs, displays, exhibitors and cosplay (costume play, dressing up as a character) opportunities – all free of charge. 

 

Event highlights include:

  • Superhero Storytime 10:30 a.m., (prior to the event start);
  • Light Wands with FutureMakers for all ages;
  • Introduction to Illustration with Jason Bunyan (for teens);
  • Presentations: Marc Tyler Nobleman, Matthew Winner, and local authors panel;
  • Harry Potter-Themed Escape Room;
  • DIY Dragon eggs inspired by Game of Thrones;
  • Cosplay contest with prizes for children, teens and adults.
