For Immediate Release: Monday, February 12, 2018

On Thursday, February 15, the officers and staff of the 2nd District Police station located  at 7359 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda will officially complete the move into their new facility located at 4823 Rugby Avenue in Bethesda. The move will not affect police patrol response to calls for service within the 2nd District. Public access to the new station will begin at approximately 5 p.m. on Thursday, and after that time, become available on a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week basis.

Routine walk-in services such as fingerprinting and in-person filing and obtaining of police reports will be suspended at the Wisconsin Avenue location beginning at 7 a.m. on February 15 and resume at approximately 5 p.m. at the Rugby Avenue station. Community members seeking services at the new building are encouraged to first call the station after 5 p.m., at 240-773-6700, to ensure that their needs can be accommodated.

There is no free parking at the new location. Parking is available at metered spaces on Rugby Avenue and on the surroundings streets, as well as in County Public Parking Garage #35 with public entrance only from Woodmont Avenue.

The men and women of the 2nd District look forward to continuing their tradition of dedicated service at their new location. See https://buff.ly/2sphCwC for additional information about the new 2nd District Station.
