*** UPDATE *** DLC Celebrates Cinco de Mayo with Fiesta and Special Discounts

For Immediate Release: Friday, May 4, 2018

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Montgomery County Department of Liquor Control (DLC) is postponing its Cinco de Mayo fiesta at its Downtown Rockville Liquor & Wine store until Saturday, May 5 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., complete with tequila tastings, special discounts, and complimentary food from the Rito Loco food truck. The DLC apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. Regular-priced tequila items will be 10 percent off, May 5, with the special discount available only at the Downtown Rockville store.

Located at 300 North Washington Street, Downtown Rockville Liquor & Wine will offer Jose Cuervo and 1800 tequila tastings; and the Rito Loco food truck will be serving up complimentary burritos and tacos on a first come, first serve basis.

“We’re very excited to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the local community,” said Melissa Davis, senior marketing officer for the DLC. “We’re always looking for new ways to engage with our consumers and hosting a fiesta seemed to be the perfect way for us to do just that.”

In addition to hosting a special celebration at the Downtown Rockville location, many DLC retail stores will have themed Cinco de Mayo displays to give shoppers inspiration for their own at-home fiesta and dozens of tequilas, flavored tequilas, margarita mixes, and Mexican beers are on sale throughout the month of May, including fan favorites such as Corona Extra, Jose Cuervo, Patron, and 1800.

For more information about the history of Cinco de Mayo or themed drink recipes, view the latest edition of Montgomery County Spirits Magazine. For more information about May sale pricing, view the online sale flyer or visit your local DLC retail store.

As always, the DLC reminds you to please drink responsibly.
