Two upcoming community bike rides will be held this month in cooperation with the Washington Area Bicyclists Association (WABA) on May 12 in Silver Spring and May 31 in Bethesda.

May 12 Silver Spring Art Ride:

This ride is co-sponsored by the Montgomery County Planning Department and WABA starting at 10 a.m. at Veterans Plaza. Bike around Silver Spring at a gentle pace while learning about some of the public art. Bikers of all ages and skill levels are invited to join the five-mile ride that will have many stops. Sign up online.

May 31 Bethesda Ride:

Meet at the Bethesda Metro Plaza near the BikeShare Station at 6:30 p.m. The ride will end at Silver on Woodmont Avenue at 8 p.m. when participants will receive a free Classic Margarita, along with Happy Hour specials on food and other drinks. Everyone who participates in the ride will receive a free helmet and backpack, and be eligible for a raffle to win a bike donated by Marriott International, as well as three $25 Silver Gift Cards. Registration is free for Capital Bikeshare members and is $10 for all others. Sign up online.
