SHA Announces Temporary Sidewalk Closures in Downtown Bethesda

For Immediate Release: Friday, June 1, 2018

The Maryland State Highway Administration has issued notices about the following sidewalk closures on MD 355 in downtown Bethesda:

 

  • Excavation work at 7272 Wisconsin Avenue, continuing through at least June 30 has closed the sidewalk on the west side Wisconsin Avenue between Elm Street and the work site. Signage directs pedestrians around the work zone.  In addition, the right lane of southbound Wisconsin Avenue between Elm Street and Bethesda Avenue remains closed to traffic.  Pedestrians and motorists are directed through the work zone by flaggers and signage.

  • The sidewalk on northbound Wisconsin Avenue between Montgomery Street/South Park Avenue and Wisconsin Circle/Willard Avenue is closed for during construction of sidewalk improvements along the east side of Wisconsin Avenue until June 8 at 3 p.m., weather permitting. Pedestrians and motorists are directed through the work zone by signage.

  • The sidewalk in front of 7758, 7756, 7754, and 7752 Wisconsin Avenue is closed until June 30. Pedestrians are directed around the work zone with signage.
