For Immediate Release: Friday, January 25, 2019
Library Lovers Month, an annual month-long celebration, which showcases the importance of libraries in Montgomery County, will kick off at the Gaithersburg branch of Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) located at 18330 Montgomery Village Ave., on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. This year’s theme is “All Roads Lead to the Library,” to highlight the many paths on which libraries can take us.
The free celebration will include a proclamation presentation and features music by Alex and the Kaleidoscope, appropriate for elementary-school-aged children.
“Library Lovers Month is one of the highlights of the year for Montgomery County Public Libraries,” stated Anita Vassallo, acting director of MCPL. “I hope County residents who are long time users and folks new to our wonderful library system will stop by a branch for a program or just to find out about all of the fantastic free services and resources we provide.”
Throughout the month of February, Friends of the Library, Montgomery County, Inc., (FOLMC) chapters and MCPL will host multiple free engaging programs and activities for all ages at branches throughout the County. For more information about the events, go to MCPL Calendar of Events.
The special event is sponsored in partnership with MCPL, FOLMC, Montgomery County Library Board and Friends of the Library, Gaithersburg Chapter.
