ROCKVILLE, Md., Mar. 19, 2021— Immigration attorney Silverio Coy and IRS spokeswoman Irma M. Treviño will be the featured guests on this week’s En Sintonía con El Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council), airing today at 2 p.m. on Radio America (WILC 900AM).

In the first part of the show, Mr. Coy will discuss the American Dream and Promise Act of 2021 that was recently passed by the House of Representatives, as well as the Farm Workforce Modernization Act. He will also provide information about the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Venezuelans in the United States. Mr. Coy will explain the benefits of this measure and the due process for beneficiaries to apply. Additionally, he will provide a detailed explanation on the different alternatives that both Democratic and Republican leaders are exploring to determine a solution to the immigration challenges facing the nation.

During the second part of the show, Ms. Treviño will provide residents with an update on the different tax credits that have been approved as a result of the pandemic, and will discuss the new tax-filing deadline. Treviño will also answer questions from listeners.

The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station. Lilian Mass is the show’s host.

Each week, the show features guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
