Due to the 42nd Takoma Park Street Festival, Ride On Bus Routes 12, 16, and 18 will experience detours on Sunday, Oct. 1 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. A portion of Tulip and Carroll Avenue will be closed. See the above map and detour information below.
- Route 12:
- To Silver Spring Transit Center: Leaving Takoma Station, take Eastern Avenue, right on Piney Branch Road, right on Philadelphia Avenue, left on Carroll Avenue, and back on route. Stops 20742, 20744, 20746, 29684 and 20748 will be bypassed. Use alternate stops 24884, 24886, 24854, 24856, and 16026.
- To Takoma Station: From Carroll Avenue, right on Philadelphia Avenue, left on Piney Branch Road, and left on Eastern Avenue to the station. Stops 20798, 20800, 20802, 20804 and 20806 will be bypassed. Use alternate stops 24958, 24862, 24860, and 24859.
- Route 16:
- To Silver Spring Transit Center: Leaving Takoma Station, take Eastern Avenue, right on Piney Branch Road, right on Philadelphia Avenue, left on Carroll Avenue, and back on route. Stops 20742, 20744, 20746, 29684 and 20748 will be bypassed. Use alternate stops 24884, 24886, 24854, 24856, and 16026.
- To Takoma Station: From Carroll Avenue, right on Philadelphia Avenue, left on Piney Branch Road, left on Eastern Avenue to the station. Stops 20798, 20800, 20802, 20804 and 20806 will be bypassed. Use alternate stops 24958, 24862, 24860, and 24859.
- Route 18:
- To Langley Station: Leaving Takoma Station, take Eastern Avenue, right on Piney Branch Road, right on Philadelphia Avenue, left on Maple Avenue, and back on route. Stops 20742, 20744, 20746, 29684, 20748, 15354 and 15348 will be bypassed. Use alternate stops 24884, 24886, 24854, 24856, and 16026.
- To Takoma Station: From Maple Avenue, right on Philadelphia Avenue, left on Piney Branch Road, left on Eastern Avenue to the station. Stops 20800, 20802, 20804, 20806, 15350 and 15352 will be bypassed. Use alternate stops 24958, 24862, 24860, and 24859.
Ride On bus fare is only $1 and monthly passes are $22.50 using SmarTrip, cash, or tokens. Seniors age 65 or older, persons with disabilities and youth ages 18 and under all ride free using specialized SmartTrip cards.
