The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking proposals for the educational sessions that will be part of the 12th Annual Montgomery County Energy Summit. The summit’s theme, “Beyond Benchmarking: Navigating Energy Performance,” will explore advanced strategies and innovations in building energy performance.
The summit will take place April 8-9 at the Silver Spring Civic Building at Veterans Plaza.
DEP is asking that proposals for educational sessions be submitted by Friday, Dec. 6.
Montgomery County continues to champion sustainable initiatives through policies and programs that move the building sector toward an energy-efficient, low-carbon future. The 2025 summit will delve deeper into advanced energy performance strategies, offering attendees insights beyond basic benchmarking practices.
"The Montgomery County Energy Summit has consistently served as a catalyst for innovation in sustainable building practices," said County Executive Marc Elrich. "As we move beyond benchmarking, we're seeking thought leaders and practitioners who can share cutting-edge approaches to building energy performance. This Energy Summit will be crucial in advancing our climate action goals while fostering economic growth."
The County is seeking proposals in the following areas:

"The 2025 Energy Summit will bring together experts and practitioners to explore new frontiers in building energy performance and share practical strategies for achieving our ambitious climate goals."
DEP anticipates hosting more than 300 attendees at the upcoming Energy Summit including building owners, property managers, developers, energy contractors and sustainability professionals from the DMV area. Presenters will have the opportunity to shape the conversation around advanced energy performance and contribute to Montgomery County's sustainable future.
