From the Office of Council President Andrew Friedson
Montgomery County Council President Andrew Friedson issued the following statement today.
“As we prepare for the peaceful transition of power in our nation’s capital following the 2024 U.S. presidential election, we will continue working to ensure Montgomery County remains a safe and welcoming place for all our residents. It is the reason why people from every corner of the world and all walks of life choose to call Montgomery County home and we will not let anything said or done in Washington undermine the progress we have made.
“We will continue to hold true to our shared principles of compassion, inclusion, respect, and tolerance for all. We will work with our community and faith leaders, state and federal officials, and partners in law enforcement to enhance community safety and continue to denounce hate in all its forms. Together, we stand unified with our neighbors, friends, and loved ones to recommit ourselves to making sure Montgomery County remains a peaceful and welcoming place to live, work, worship, and raise a family.”
