Montgomery County Council to Hold Public Hearings on Jan. 14 and 21, 2025

The County Council will hold public hearings to receive testimony on new items introduced to the Council as follows:

Jan. 14, 2025 at 1:30 p.m.
Deadline to sign up to speak is Jan. 13 at 2 p.m.

• Resolution to approve Supplemental Appropriation #25-34 to the FY25 Operating Budget, Montgomery County Government, Department of Health and Human Services, Care For Kids Program, $332,000 (Source of Funds: General Fund: Undesignated Reserves) and Amendment to FY25 Operating Budget Resolution 20-526, Section G, Designation of Entities for Non-Competitive Contract Award Status: The Primary Care Coalition of Montgomery County, Maryland, Inc.
• Resolution to approve Supplemental Appropriation #25-39 to the FY25 Operating Budget, Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), Planning Department, Germantown Employment Area Sector Plan, $110,000 (Source of Funds: M-NCPPC Administration Fund: Reserves)
• The Council will receive testimony on Corrective Map Amendment (CMA) H-151 to correct a technical error in the zoning for 12701 Piedmont Road, Parcels P541 and P594, in Clarksburg, MD 20871. A copy of the application and maps may be examined at https://tinyurl.com/2t4sm3uh.

• Bill 27-24, Animal Control - Impoundment and Disposition, would reduce the number of days an animal may be impounded before becoming County property, update the notice requirements for impounded animals, clarify the appeal process, and generally amend the County law regarding the impoundment of animals.
• Bill 28-24, Employees' Retirement System and Other Post Employment Benefits - Administration - Powers and Duties, would alter powers and duties regarding administration of the Montgomery County Employee Retirement Plans, and generally amend the law regarding the Employees’ Retirement System and Other Post Employment Benefits.

To testify in-person or remotely during a live public hearing at the Council Office Building, residents need to preregister on the Council's web page. Residents may also choose to provide pre-recorded testimony in written, audio or video formats or submit testimony by mail.
